The first flag of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina

 

Golden lillyes on blue background is emblem of Kotromanich Dynasty, the Bosnian king Tvrtko the First and his heirs. Lilly on the emblem was created basing on a lilly which is speciffic for Bosnia „Lilium Bosnacium“.

Acording to this emblem symbols of Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina were chosen on 4.May 1992. year after declaring independancy. Emblem is similar to King Tvrtko's emblem while the flag is created from white background in which center emblem lies. It was raised for the first time at 22 May 1992. year in front of UN building in New York. These flag and emblem stopped being symbols of Bosnia and Herzegovina at 04. February 1998. year.

This flag was taken down from gouvernment building by professor doctor Enver Imamović and it was given to Museum at January 2003. year.
