Periscope

This periscope was made and used by soldiers of 102. motorized brigade who fought with enemies surrounding Sarajevo in period between 1992. and 1995.

It is made by hands, using pieces of wood which are connected with nails and painted black.
Inside periscope, there are two mirrors, fixed by same angle and facing each other.
Size and weight of the object are making it mobile, so one soldier could carry it, while running through streets and trenches and fighting face to face with enemy.
According to the fact that soldiers were fighting even inside buildings, the periscope was extremely important in urban fights.
It gave soldier ability to trace movement of enemy, without leaving the shelter and exposing his head to fire.

Thanks to combination of bravery and clever ideas of soldiers of 102. motorized brigade and other brigades of BiH army, Sarajevo was not conquered, despite enemy's big advantage in logistics.
