The monument to the heir to the throne Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sofija Kotek was erected in 1916, on the left corner of the Latin bridge. It is built of granite and white marble.
A plaque with an inscription about the death, and a medallion with busts of the archduke and duchess were the base of the Greek columns with their family coats of arms instead of capitals. Two crowns are placed on top of the pillars.
The monument was already removed in 1919 by the authorities of the SHS Kingdom. The foundations of the monument were visible until the reconstruction of the bridge in 2004, as well as the benches on the right side of the bridge, which are still visible today.
