Nadžak

In XV century, borders of Ottoman Empire were spreading on Bosnia and Herzegowina's land. In the military campaigns, domestic population were recruted into one of the largest armies. Occupying forces brought with them a variety of crafts for making weapons. Since the weapons are given great attention, it was decorated with various details, which was a symbol of power of the owner.

Nadžak is a type of weapon for hitting which ends with tapered part (beak). The shaft, which was sometimes bound with silver, were inserted into leather ear. This is a infantry, and cavalry weapon. He served for breaking the helmet, armor and for taking opponent off the horse. In the later period, the arrival of gunpowder and guns caused to stop this weapon from beeing used.
