Fibula

The Bronze Age in Bosnia and Herzegovina lasted from 1800. to 800. year BCE. Historically, three stages are distinguished: the Early Bronze Age, the Middle Bronze Age and the Late Bronze Age. During this thousand-year period major advances were made in mining, metallurgy and metalworking crafts. Also, Sarajevo region experienced considerable social, economic and cultural advances under the influence of the central Bosnian and Glasical cultural group of the Late Bronze Age.

On Debelo Brdo, a large fortified settlement was built and an extensive open complex of colonies grew up. In this area were found remains of ceramic pottery and bronze objects on which are engraved fineries in style of West Balkan. One of those objects is fibula which was used as a decorative buckle for holding parts of clothes usually on shoulder. It was handmade making mold and pouring melted bronze in it.
